Suikoden III Character Recruitment

This Guide will help get all 108 Stars Of Destiny. You will see
detailed descriptions on how to acquire them so it'll be a breeze.


Thomas                    Tenkai Star                     Thomas 1
Thomas has his own flame on the chapter select screen meaning you can play
as him for a while. He will become a Star Of Destiny wether you play him or
not.

Sasarai                   Tengou Star                     Chapter 5
Appears in one of the strategic battles and offers a hand, after a scene at
Lake Castle he will become a Star Of Destiny.

Caesar                    Tenki Star
Joins automatically after an event at Lake Castle.

Luc                       Tenkan Star                     Chapter 5
You must have 104 Stars Of Destiny recruited before the final battle at the
ceramonial site. The game doesn't give you visual warning that he has become
a Star Of Destiny but any time you leave the Ceremonial Site, you can check
the Tablet Of Stars to see if he is there or not.

If you complete the game with all 108 Stars Of Destiny, after the ending you
will open up Luc's Flame on the Chapter select screen. You can now see the
game from Luc's point of view but the game doesn't last nowhere near aslong
as the other 3 main characters.

Joins automatically after an event at Lake Castle.

Yuber                     Tenyu Star                      Chapter 5
You must have 104 stars before the final battle, go and check the Stone
Tablet when you can enter/leave the second Sindar Ruins before the final
boss.

Shiba                     Tenmou Star                     Chapter 4
Joins automatically after an event at Lake Castle.

Lucia                     Teni Star                       Chapter 4
Joins automatically after an event at Lake Castle.

Yuiri                     Tenei Star                      Chapter 5
Joins automatically after an event at Lake Castle.

Salome is already a Star Of Destiny when you start Chris chapter 1.

Jimba  *DIES*             Tenfu Star                      Chapter 3
Automatically joins after a plot event. NOTE: Jimba dies in the game, so if
his name goes red on the Tablet of Stars, you don't need to worry.

Juan                      Tenman Star                     Thomas 1
Juan is a Star Of Destiny very early on in Thomas' chapter, he joins you
automaticly.

Sgt. Joe                  Tenko Star                      Hugo 1
Sgt. Joe begins the game with Hugo.

Hugo                      Tensyo Star                     Hugo 1
Possibly the hardest character to get...just kidding :) He is one of the 3
main hero characters  that you play as during the game.

Bazba                     Tenritsu Star                   Chapter 4
Joins automatically after an event at Lake Castle.

Yun  *DIES*               Tensyo Star                     Chris 3
Yun joins automatically after an event at the Chisya Clan. NOTE: Yun dies,
much like Jimba. If you see that her name has turned red on the Tablet Of
Stars, don't worry it's normal.

Edge                      Tenan Star                      Chapter 4+
Give the Star Dragon Sword weilding guy 1,000 Potch and then defeat him in
a duel. If you win he will make his way to Lake Castle as a Star Of Destiny.

Yumi                      Tenyu Star                      Chapter 5
Joins automatically after an event at Lake Castle.

Fubar starts the game in Hugo's party. KWUEEEEEE!

Nash                      Tensoku Star                    Chris 2
When Iksay Village is attacked by the Lizard Clan, he will accompany Chris
and join automaticly.

Joins automatically after an event in Karaya village.

Joins automatically after an event at Brass Castle.

Chris Lightfellow is one of the 3 main hero's you get to play as during the
game.

Estella                   Tenkyu Star                     Chapter 4+
Have a chat with Rody and he will tell you that if you look for a secret
village occupied by men only (as opposed to Alma Kinans female only) and
then give them the information they will help you. Go down to the temple
area located to the right of the inn and speak to the girl there. She will
tell you there is no such thing as a men only village. Go back and report
to Rody and Estella and they will join the Stars Of Destiny.

Cecil                     Tentai Star                     Thomas 1
Cecil joins at the beggining of Thomas' chapter.

Geddoe                    Tenjyu Star                     Geddoe 1
Geddoe is one of the 3 main hero's that you can play as.

Melville                  Tenken Star                     Chapter 1
When your in Viney Del Zexay with Hugo early on in the game, make sure you
check out the southern area around the shops, you'll see some kids talking
and head into an alleyway. Go into the alley and then climb up the ladders
to reach the windows. Tell them the password that you overheard them saying
earlier and they'll let you in. from here on you'll go on a little sidequest
to the Northern Cavern where you will end up being defeated by Guillaume in
a duel. After the sidequest has ended, Alanis will move away.

Come back later in the game when you have Billy (Melvilles Father) and then
chat with Melville and he will join with Elliot.

Speak with her in the Great Hollow with Melville and Elliot in the party.

When your controling Geddoe in Mt. Senai and after Luc has left a present
for you, do not choose to abandon the villagers, not even once. If you make
it all the way without abandoning the people you will be saved by Duke and
co. Franz will join after that event.

Iku                       Tensui Star                     Chapter 5
Joins with Franz.

Scott                     Tenbou Star                     Geddoe 1
Scott is located at Brass Castle, on the left side of the gates. He requests
some Deer Antlers in order for his help. Head over to the trade shops in
Viney Del Zexay and buy some, then take them back to Scott and he will join.

Ernie                     Tenkoku Star                    Chapter 1
Head to the Skill training shop in Brass Castle and answer 5 of her
questions correct in a row. For the answers to her questions check the
bottom of the FAQ, or press CTRL + F and type "Ernie's
questions"

Dios                      Tenkou Star                     Chapter 5
Appears in one of the strategic battles alongside Sasaria and offers a hand,
after a scene at Lake Castle he will become a Star Of Destiny.

Albert                    Chikai Star                     Chapter 5
You must have 104 Stars Of Destiny recruited before the final battle at the
ceramonial site. The game doesn't give you visual warning that he has
become a Star Of Destiny but any time you leave the Ceremonial Site, you

Mua                       Chisatsu Star                   Hugo 3
Mua Joins automaticly in an event on the east side of Brass Castle.

Dominick                  Chiyu Star                      Geddoe 1
Head to the armour shop in Viney Del Zexay and chat with Dom. He will go on
and on about his Mole armour, but it's just a piece of crap armour really.
you don't have to buy from him now, so if your short on Potch you can come
back later with the 37,200 Potch and buy the damn thing off him. He will
join you and open an armour shop at Lake Castle.

Jeane                     Chiketsu Star                   Chapter 1
Just head on over to the Rune shop at Brass Castle and talk to the lady,
tee hee hee.

Shabon                    Chiyu Star                      Thomas 1
First see Shabon being chased around in Vinay Del Zexay by Guillaume. Go
speak to Nei on the Eastern part of the town and then head to the center
square. You'll enter a duel with Guillaume, if you win Shabon will join the
Stars Of Destiny.

Fred                      Chii Star                       Chris 2
Joins automatically after an event at the Duck Clan village.

Rico                      Chiei Star                      Chris 2
Joins with Fred.

Percival                  Chiki                           Chris 1
Percival is already part of Chris' party when you play as her.

Borus                     Chimou Star                     Chris 1
Borus is already part of Chris' party when you play as her.

Twaikin                   Chibun Star                     Thomas 1/Geddoe 1
Head to the basement of the Great Hollow, the south eastern part of the
main Hollow room and you'll find Twaikin digging stuff. Have a chat and tell
him about Lake Castle and he will join.

Nadir                     Chisei Star                     Chapter 4+
Head to the 2nd floor of Caleria's inn and speak to the masked man, that's
Nadir. You need a party consisting of 3 men, 2 women and a child. If your
trying this with Hugo, make sure you count him as a child, the others are
pretty easy to work out. Change party members by talking to Anne at the bar
in Lake Castle.

Duke                      Chikatsu Star                   Chapter 5
Joins automatically after he saves your group in an event at Mt. Senai.

Barts                     Chitou Star                     Chris 2
This guy requests some grapes, they can be bought at the trade shop in
Chisha Village. After Iksay Village has been attacked by the Lizard Clan, go
back to the windmill and give him the grapes and then he will join you.

Bright                    Chikyou Star                    Chapter 4+
Joins with Futch.

Toppo                     Chian Star                      Thomas 1/Geddoe 1
Joins with Shabon.

Beechum                   Chiziku Star
Joins automatically after an event at Lake Castle.

Mio                       Chirei Star                     Thomas 1/Geddoe 1
Go to Iksay Village and enter the inn. walk up to the 2nd floor to see Tuta
and Mio at work. Tell them about Lake Castle and they will agree to split
up, Mio will head to your castle and Tuta will carry on serving the nearby
villages. don't worry you can get Tuta later.

Tuta                      Chijyu Star                     Chapter 4+
Head to Chisha village with Mio in support and find Tuta underneath all the
shops in a small room. he will join you after a brief conversation.

Futch                     Chibi Star                      Chapter 4+
Go to the mountain path torwards Caleria and you'll see Futch on the
Eastern most screen before Caleria itself. he will head to Caleria, so you
should too. Once there, help Futch find Sharon and once you have, he will
join you.

Lilly                     Chikyu Star                     Chapter 4
Joins automatically after a strategic battle.

Jefferson                 Chibaka Star
If you have more than 70 Stars Of Destiny, the next time you leave Lake
Castle he will arrive at the entrance and join automaticly.

Sarah                     Chizen Star                     Chapter 5
You must have 104 Stars Of Destiny recruited before the final battle at the
ceramonial site. The game doesn't give you visual warning that he has
become a Star Of Destiny but any time you leave the Ceremonial Site, you
can check the Tablet Of Stars to see if he is there or not.

Watari                    Chikou Star                     Thomas 1/Geddoe 1
Go to Iksay Village and near the entrance on the right you will see him
standing there. If you want him you have to pay 100,000 potch. This can be
done later in the game if you want but it's a good idea to get him with
Chris when she goes to Iksay as she starts with enough money to purchase
Watari's assistance.

Ayame                     Chikyou Star
Keep talking to Watari in the lower areas of the castle and eventually you
will see a cutscene set in the past with Watari and Ayame. after you have
seen that take Wutari in your party and head to the Northern Cavern, near
Viney Del Zexay. get to the end and you'll meet Ayame who will duel you.
defeat her and she will join you.

Hortez VII                Chikou Star
You'll first come across Hortez at Duck Village, give him directions to the
castle and he will go in the wrong direction. Next time you meet will be at
Chisha Village, again give him directions and he will head off in the wrong
direction. Kaleria is his next stop, give him directions again. You'll now
find him all the way back in Duck Village, when you talk to him this time
howether, give him the WRONG directions and he will head in the RIGHT way.
You do need to do all that previous stuff too, you cant tell him the wrong
directions when you first meet in Duck Village.

Jacques is already part of Geddoe's team when you play as him.

Head to Chisha Village and go underground, you'll find him at the end on
the floor, bloated. Offer to pay 3,000 Potch for all the food he ate and he
will join you.

Ike is already a Star Of Destiny when you play as Thomas.

Leo                       Chisyu Star                     Chris 1
Leo is already part of Chris' team when you play as her.

Joins after an event at the Karaya mountain pass.

Once you have Viki (Elder) recruited, go back to the mountain pass where
you found her and little Viki will show up. After a cutscene she will join
you too and let you use the Blinking Mirror.

Augustine                 Chichin Star                    Thomas 1/Geddoe 1
Augustine is on the verge of crying because he lost his Rose Brooch. You
can purchase them at Iksay Village in the item shop, they appear under Rare
Finds. If it's not there then no worries, come back 10 minutes later and the
Rare Finds would have 'refreshed' keep doing that untill you get one, then
head back to the south area of Viney Del Zexay and give it to him.

Bell                      Chikei Star                     Thomas 1/Geddoe 1
Bell is the girl at brass castle who makes a racket by thumping that barrel
all the time. Talk to her and she will say that the barrels not working
because it's missing a screw. It's your job to find a screw. They are
dropped after battle by Cut Bunnies in the Amur Plains. Get the screw and
give it to Bell and the Barrel comes to life as Gadget, they will then join
you.

Koruko                    Chima Star                      Thomas 1/Geddoe 1
Go to Mt. Hei-Tou and take all the left paths, eventualy you'll come across
a skeleton, but ignore that, look other to the left in the grass to find
Koruko, a dog. Select the option to adopt him and he will become a Star Of
Destiny.

Koruko actually unlocks another flame on the chapter select screen, but you
can play as him any time you want. Go to the outside entrance to the bar
(where the stage is) at Lake castle and he will be there outside his
customisable Kennel. Talk to him and then you'll switch to him, you can now
walk around Lake Castle as Koruko talking to everyone and hearing
interesting things. If you talk to other dogs, you can understand them too.
Koruko can take part in Kathy's race aswell but he is rather slow.

Arthur                    Chiyou Star                     Thomas 1/Geddoe 1
Arthur is at Brass Castle in the eating area. Speak with him after Hugo and
co break through Brass castle and he will reveal his desire to investigate
the crime. Head to the back of the kitchen and examine the stove which
Hugo escaped from. Now go back and report to Arthur and he will join you.

Kidd                      Chiyu Star                      Thomas 1/Geddoe 1
Kidd is located in Duck Clan Village in the area behind the inn. Agree to
help solve the "murder" and then examin the window ledge and the body, then
talk to Kidd. He'll ask for more clues from you. go outside and talk to the
duck in that area, then go back through the inn and to the main area of Duck
Village. Go to the water wheel and talk to the duck there, then head to the
trade shop and talk to the customer walking about in there to get a piece of
paper. Go back to Kidd and report your findings and he will ask who you
think the killer is. Choose who you think it is (it doesn't matter what you
choose here) and the scene will unfold and the mystery will reveal itself.
After all this tell Kidd about Lake Castle and he will join you.

Joins with Caesar.

Kenji                     Chihi Star                      Thomas 1/Geddoe 1
Head to the Yaza Plain and look for Kenji, he has a white top on and is
stretching. Agree to excersize with him and then when he asks whats wrong,
choose the 2nd option for water. Then you can recruit him.

Mel                       Chiku Star                      Thomas 1/Geddoe 1
Talk to her after Iksay Village has been attacked by the Lizard Clan and she
will join you.

Peggy                     Chiko Star                      Thomas 1/Geddoe 1
Peggy is the Smith at the Great Hollow, who wants a new hammer. Any 4 of
the main hammers will work, but the nearest is found in the Great Hollow
aswell. Go to the Trade store and talk to the human there for the Iron
hammer. Go give it to Peggy and he will join you and open a shop where you
can sharpen all your characters weapons.

Martha is already a Star Of Destiny when you play as Thomas.

Wilder                    Chitan Star                     Chapter 4+
Speak with him in the Duck Clan village with Sgt. Joe in the party.

Borus is already part of Chris' party when you play as her.

Mamie                     Chizou Star                     Thomas 1/Geddoe 1
Mamie needs a Crab Rice Bowl in order for her to join you. Hallec starts
with one in his equiptment or you can fight Mantikra's in Kaput Forrest and
wait for them to drop one after battle.

Ruby                      Chihei Star                     Chapter 5
Joins with Franz

Muto                      Chison Star                     Thomas 1
Martha is already a Star Of Destiny when you play as Thomas.

Landis                    Chido Star
Have and empty slot in your party and head to Kaput Forrest. Wonder around
there and eventually he will just appear in your party without it even
telling you so. He will start fighting for you after a while and you'll
notice him in battle and in the menu screen. That's it, you have him. It's
safe to go and change your party now, he will stay at Lake Castle from then
on.

Kathy                     Chisatsu Star                   Thomas 1/Geddoe 1
Go to North Amur Plain and talk with her. she will ask how many horses she
has, you should count them and then tell her, if done correctly she will
join you. The number is always random.

Emily                     Chiaku Star
Emily is found underground at Chisha Village sitting by herself by a table.
When your characters have a combined STR of 600 you can then win the arm
wrestle she offers you and she will join. To check the STR levels, go to
the menu and then Status. add the values up to see if you have what it
takes.

Billy                     Chisyu Star                     Chapter 2
Go to the 2nd floor of Lake Castle and head to the statue room (to the
immediate left of the stairs) and place a statue on the big center display.
leave the room and come back, then win 20,000 Potch from him at his card
game. Once you've done this he will join. NOTE: Statues are  a bugger to
get hold of so once you have placed one on the middle pedestal it might be
a good idea to save it before going back in that room because if you loose
at cards Billy will win your statue and you'll have to find another one.

Get to the Trading shop in Caleria and beat him at cards for him to join
you.

Luce                      Chiin Star                      Chapter 4
Joins automatically after an event at Lake Castle.

Sanae Y.                  Chikei Star
After you have over 50 Stars Of Destiny recruited, go to Duck Clan Village
and talk to her and she will join you.

Anne                      Chisou Star                     Chapter 4
Joins automatically after an event at Lake Castle.

Goro                      Chiretsu Star                   Thomas 1/Geddoe 1
Go to Zexen forrest with someone who has the Appraisal Skill in support
abilities (Muto, Mio, Arthur and Guillaume) and then take the upper path.
Talk to him and agree to help and he will join you.

Piccolo                   Chiken Star                     Thomas 1
Martha is already a Star Of Destiny when you play as Thomas.

Rhody                     Chimou Star                     Chapter 4+
Joins with Estella.

Guillaume                 Chizoku Star
Guillaume is at the entrance to the Sindar Ruins trying to get in. Go up to
him and you will start a duel, win and then let him open an appraisal store
and he will join you.

Gordon                    Chikou Star                     Thomas 1/Geddoe 1
Get a party full of Males only and then go to Iksay Village item store.
Talk to him and he will join you.

The four Dogs
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

Apart from Koruko, there are 4 other dogs you can recruit. They aren't part
of the stone tablet and they are not Stars of Destiny and neither can they
be played as like Koruko can, but they are still recruitable nonetheless.
You need to get them in order too starting with Koruko and then:

Koichi
Koichi is found in the Northern Cavern next to Vinay Del Zexay, as soon as
you walk inside the cavern head halfway through the passageway and you'll
spot him behing the barrel. Select to adopt him and he will join.

Connie
Connie is located in the Great Hollow. Once inside the main hollow area take
the South East exit to where Twaikin once stood, then go through the middle
exit. Follow the passage a little and you'll spot her.

Kosanji
Kosanji is found at Mt. Senai. Head up the mountain a few screens and then
take a right, through the passage and then outside to a cliff edge. walk to
the left side of the cliff edge and you'll see him hanging off the cliff!
Press X to help him up, and select adopt.

Kogoro
Kogoro is in the Sindar Ruins. Head into the ruins to the point where you
have to choose 1 of 3 directions, its next to the save point. Choose the
left path then in the next area take the first left path there aswell.
You'll be at a dead end but this is where Kogoro is located behind the ruin.
Go talk to him and watch the dance he does (AWWWWWWW!) then choose to adopt.
